About Us
Schools for Theatre was founded by Barry Horbal while working as an actor at a theatre company in Helena, MT. While spending time one day watching the education director assist a high school student looking online for colleges and universities that offered theatre arts degrees, he quickly realized how difficult a task this could be, and decided to create a website that housed the information on all of the theatre arts programs in the United States.
Schools for Theatre is the only comprehensive online guide to theatre schools and universities that offer programs in theatre arts. Using our easy-to-use search engine, prospective students can find schools that offer programs in acting, musical theatre, directing, design, technical theater, stage management, theater management, theatre education, theatre for youth, history and criticism, playwriting and drama therapy. We provide detailed information on each school, including audition/portfolio deadlines, alumni and faculty lists, curriculum and much more!

Schools for Theatre has an easy-to-use search engine that makes looking for schools and universities a cinch! Visitors can search by school, region and/or major. We then provide a list of all the schools that fit the search criteria. Visitors can click any school on the list to open a full page of information on that school.
